Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin

Md. Kamal Uddin, PhD, is a Professor of International Relations at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and he served as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Administration) from September 2024 to June 10, 2026. He holds a PhD from the Department of Asian and International Studies, City University of Hong Kong, and an Advanced Master’s in International Organizations from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Kamal received Outstanding Academic Performance Award for Research Degree Students, City University of Hong Kong for the academic year of 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. He was recognized as the top researcher in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chittagong in 2022, 2023, and 2024 and received the Research Excellence Award 2022, 2023, and 2024. Dr. Uddin is also the recipient of an Early Career Researcher Scholarship in Southern Criminology from the Queensland University of Technology, and the Australian Government Award for University Leaders in 2026. His core research interests span human rights, industry academia partnership, policing and criminal justice, environmental politics, sustainable development, forced migration, and global southern perspectives.
