Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin
Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin Professor of International Relations University of Chittagong, Bangladesh
Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin is a distinguished Professor of International Relations at the University of Chittagong. He earned his PhD from the Department of Asian and International Studies at City University of Hong Kong and holds an Advanced Master’s degree in International Organizations from the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
He is a highly accomplished researcher, receiving the Research Excellence Award for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024), and was recognized as the Top Researcher of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chittagong during the same period. Additionally, he was awarded the Best Research Article Award in 2023 and 2024 by the Research and Publication Cell of the University of Chittagong.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Kamal received the Early Career Researcher Scholarship in Southern Criminology (2017) from the Crime and Justice Centre, School of Justice, Queensland University of Technology.
His research has been widely published in reputable international journals, including Sustainable Development, Development Policy Review, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Local Environment, Policing, Current Sociology, and Human Rights Review.
Dr. Kamal’s research interests encompass human rights, policing and criminal justice, environmental politics and crimes, sustainable development, forced migration, refugee rights, and global South perspectives.
